Tales from Early New York, the debut release from singer-songwriter Chris Jennings,

is a collection of rock, blues, bluegrass and traditional ballad flavored songs

inspired by the pre-20th century history of New York.

Originally conceived as a corollary to the statewide social studies curriculum,

Tales from Early New York contains supplemental performance mixes

for schools looking to mount productions that merge the colorful history of New York

with the drive and nuance of JenningsÕ evocative song writing.
